Wed: EARLY RELEASE - PDS 2, 6, 4, & 7 Worked on SDT notes slideshow in ISN and practice in Textbook. Thur: Practiced graphing constant speed on a worksheet. Tue: Watch short video What's the difference between repetition and replication? Write notes in ISN. Work on practice worksheet with shoulder partner. Write answers on loose leaf paper. Review as a class. Wed: Lab - "Is it valuable to repeat an experiment?" Perform experiment and analyze results with shoulder partner. Thur: Finish analyzing results with your shoulder partner. Draw your conclusion. Write your response for the assessment (Quiz grade). Fri: Nearpod Test Review for NOS. Wk 3 - Aug 26 - Aug 30 :
Mon: Tear out textbook pages 24-37 and put in binder. Glue in notes on 3 types of scientific investigations in ISN. Watch screencast to review notes. Read pages 24-37 in textbook. Tue: Students wrote definitions on the 3 types of variables in their ISN. We had a discussion on them. We had a class discussion on learning how to identify variables in a research question and learned how to write a proper hypothesis. Students were handed a hypothesis / variables worksheet to practice on in class. Wed: EARLY RELEASE DAY Students continued to work on their hypothesis / variables worksheet. Thur: Glue these notes into your ISN and complete them as preparation for our lab. "Bounce Back" Prep Fri: Start Bounce Back Lab Wk 1 - Aug 12 - Aug 16 :
Mon: Pass out parent contact forms, technology agreement forms, and the syllabus. All forms need to be filled out, signed, and returned. Tues: Nearpod on Classroom rules and procedures Wed: Finish Nearpod on classroom rules and procedures. Thur: Set up Bellwork folders and our Interactive Science Notebook (ISN). Think about and write two (of each) academic and behavior or personal goals in your ISN on page 1 of your ISN. Fri: What your learning style? Students will take an online quiz to determine their learning style and then share it with the teacher on an index card. When finished, they will complete a worksheet "All about Me". |
